You Cannot Get Ye Mug

Fully manual settings, Macro mode, and a little careful adjustment on my delicious tripod yielded this surprisingly-detailed shot.

This one is for mah sissy, . She liked my mug from one of my other shots, so I decided I'd so like she asked and take a really nice up-close shot of it.

This was my first time using Macro, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I turned on every manual setting I could get a hold of, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out, especially with the shadow on the counter top.

The reason I love this mug so much is that it was the first tea mug that my mother ever gave me, back in 1993 when I first expressed an interest in drinking tea. I've always been unable to drink it right after being brewed - I have a sensitive tongue that burns really easily, but tea is the one thing you're guaranteed to find in my house above anything else. The age of it is why almost all the paint has worn away - originally the leaf on the front was green, the handle was painted brown (and I think you can see a touch of that on there still), and the rim was the same brown as the handle.

Something about this mug (when filled with delicious green tea, of course) can always calm me down when I'm having a terrible day.
